Comments: In reality, Schlesinger was more a conceiver of the overall idea; he never did much of the writing. From the start he approached the immensely popular Western author Zane Grey, but he was not a regular contributor, either. Still, his byline was seen on the series' opening panels for the duration.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1935. Stopped in 1955.

The series is basically a typical Western but it takes place in Canada. Sergeant Dave King stars as a righteous mountie (member of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police)) who always gets his man. A similar slogan - We always get our Man - is still connected with the force.

The full title of the series is King of the Royal Mounted.
