Personal dates: Founded as MLJ Magazines (the initials of the founders' first names) in 1939 by Maurice Coyne, Louis Silberkleit, and John L. Goldwater, but the name was soon changed. Ongoing.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1949*. Stopped in 1961 after 62 issues, but was continued from 1984 to 1990 (additional 27 issues). Several other series with similar titles have been published from 1954 to 2008.

The title character in this romance series is a slender fashion model and actress, who is busying herself with jobs and boyfriends. The paramount topic is that of Fashion, as Keene dresses in numerous novel outfits all the time.
