Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1972. Stopped in 1978 after 59 issues.

The starring character is one of few survivors from 'The Great Disaster', a nuclear war that has brought down civilization. The boy, who lives in what is left of New York City, is called Kamandi, and he now has to struggle with all sorts of post-apocalyptic dangers in order to survive.

The full title of the series is Kamandi the Last Boy on Earth.
