The series premiered in
1972.
The starring character is a bounty
hunter with the full name Jonah Woodson Hex. He
is an uncharacteristic antihero in a traditional
Wild West setting; he has a negative reputation,
a surly attitude, and a poor personality, but
still he feels bound by his own code of honour,
that dictates him to protect and revenge the
innocent.
Hex's very distinct - and scary - facial injuries
date back to a time when he was molested by an
Indian tribe who tortured him by pressing a
sizzling hot tomahawk into his flesh.
