MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1997. Stopped in 1998 after 15 issues, but has been revived several times since then.

The 15-year old Japanese student girl Kagome Higurashi is suddenly teleported from modern-day Tokyo to a magical place in the Sengoku period, where she is supposed to find the scattered shards of the lost Jewel of Four Souls. During the search she is accompanied by a half-demon known as InuYasha (or Inu-Yasha).
