The series premiered in 1974.

The series consists of one-pagers of the Whodunnit type; we follow the sharp police inspector Dick Danger and his less sharp assistant Alfie, as they solve multiple, intriguing mysteries involving thefts, frauds, and murders. At the end of the page the reader is asked who the culprit is by sleuthing out the revealing piece of evidence presented in the panels.

The series' title has changed several times over the years. In Denmark, where it started, it has been titled Max Møller and Krimi-Quiz, and in the USA it is best known as Inspector Danger's Crime Quiz, which is also the series' full title.
