The series premiered in 2007. Stopped in 2012 after 6 issues.

The stories are partly based on events from the Romanian Jew Joseph Joanovici's life in France during World War 2. At the time he was an iron supplier who made a fortune dealing with both the German occupation forces and the French resistance movement. His profiteering activities landed him in prison after the war.
