| The
series officially premiered in 1945, but from 1942 the
character of Hubert existed sporadically as illustrations
in the army's magazine Stars and Stripes in
another setting where Hubert was drafted (Wingert was a
sergeant himself). Stopped in 1994. Hubert describes a normal, quiet man with a normal, quiet life. He lives in a suburban area with his wife and their daughter. Hubert's meddling mother-in-law sometimes seems to have set up residence in the house to Hubert's everlasting resentment. |
