Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1950. Stopped in 1983 after 321 issues, but several new series have been published since then (two of them titled Elvira's House of Mystery, though).

The series consists of several independent horror stories featuring ghosts, vampires, werewolfs, mummies, and other supernatural beings.
