MAIN STORY |
The series premiered in 2007. Stopped in 2011 after 23 issues. The stories are loosely based on a 16th century Chinese novel called Fengshen Yanyi (Investiture of the Gods), in which a large number of characters from China's legendary history and mythology appear. Two of the recurring characters are an evil fox spirit called Dakki who tries to overthrow Emperor Chu-o, and a good immortal named Taikobo who is chosen by the sages to destroy evil demons. The series' initial Japanese title Senkaiden Hōshin (or Houshin) Engi may be translated to Dwelling Place of Policy Transfer. |
