Personal dates: Founded in 1919 by Wilford Hamilton Fawcett (1885-1940). After his death one of his sons, Roscoe, took over keeping the company a family business. Stopped in 1953.

: The corporation never used a logo on their comic book front covers. The only identification (if any!) was the rather inconspicuous line A Fawcett Publication.

 

 

MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1945. Stopped in 1947 after 15 issues.

The starring character is rabbit who lives in Funny Animalville which serves as the base for his adventures. Hoppy is a superhero with superstrength, physical and magical invulnerability, and the powers of flight. In fact, he is a spin-off to Captain Marvel, whom he also emulates. He even yells the same magical word Shazam as Marvel, although his Pantheon deities differ; Salamander, Hogules, Antlers, Zebreus, Abalone, and Monkury.
