The series premiered in
1952. Stopped in 1960.
The white stallion named Silver
belongs to John Reid, the character behind The
Lone Ranger. In its own series the horse is
mostly roaming the prairie as it pleases. It
helps wild horses, fights wild animals, and
outsmarts Indians, although its affiliation with
Reid is still apparent when he emerges for brief
periods of time.
The full title of the series is The
Lone Ranger's Famous Horse Hi-Yo Silver. The
series' catchphrase title derives from The Lone
Ranger in the end of his stories, when he often
shouts out 'Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!' on their
departure.
