The series premiered in 2004. Stopped in 2011 after 23 issues.

The main topic of this series is the Japanese board game called Go. A dedicated fan of the game is schoolboy Hikaru Shindo, who travels to participate in tournaments with the aim of being the best player in the world.

The Japanese title of the series means Hikaru's Go.
