MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1942*. Stopped in 1943 after 7 issues, but was retitled Black Hood.

The main character is a highly secretive and elusive, cloaked superhero known as Hangman (possibly named Bob Dickering out of disguise), who neutralizes American adversaries during World War 2. He is often assisted by a group known as Boy Buddies consisting of several partners such as Dusty the Boy Detective and Roy the Superboy.

* The series' publishing started at #2. The first 4 issues were titled The Hangman.
