MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1954.

The title character is the nephew of Goofy, but what he lacks in physique he makes up for in brainpower symbolized in him wearing a mortarboard. Whenever he is visiting his uncle, Gilbert spends most of his time rescuing him from his uncle's thoughtless actions.

The stories were/are written by an overwhelming number of artists. Examples: Carl Robert Fallberg (1915-1996), Jim Kenner (ca.1920-), Victor 'Vic' Lockman (1927-), Abramo Barosso (1931-2013), Ivan Saidenberg (1940-2009), Paul Halas (1949-).
