MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1982*. Stopped in 1994 after 195 issues, but has been revived several times since then.

The starring character is a distinctly heroic American soldier who moves around in different scenarios such as 'normal' war situations and futuristic settings. He never shies away from hostile encounters, and his arsenal of the most modern weapons seems to be endless.

The full title of the series is G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero!
