CREATOR

The dominant character is an orange-furred, black-striped, and excessively fat cat named Garfield. He has an attitude (or two) and is the indisputable king of the house which is owned by the nerdie Jon Arbuckle, and where Odie, a dopey yellow-furred dog of indeterminable race, also lives.
Garfield loves lasagna, snoozing, TV, potted ferns, and playing tricks on Jon and Odie. He hates spinach, Mondays, vets, waking up, diets, mice(!) and spiders.

The character of Garfield is named after Davis' grandfather James Garfield Davis, who in turn was named after former U.S. president James Garfield.
