The series premiered in 1972 (sporadic appearances emerged in magazines already from the 1960s).

The series offers all sorts of comments to all sorts of events, and its spokesmen are Frank and Ernest. The characters are extremely versatile; not only do they fit into any environment, but they also seem to come from every walk of life. Their 'job' in the series is to castigate any issue imaginable (they do live up to their names!), and they often do it using amusing wordplay.
