Personal dates: Founded as MLJ Magazines (the initials of the founders' first names) in 1939 by Maurice Coyne, Louis Silberkleit, and John L. Goldwater, but the name was soon changed. Ongoing.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1990. Stopped in 1991 after 6 issues.

The stories focus on the characters from Archie, especially featuring parodies on fictional, villainous characters who have to be dealt with and dangerous, uncharted areas that have to be explored.
The primary characters have special identities and abilities: Archie (Red Andrews, soldier of fortune), Betty (Wheels Cooper, mechanic and pilot), Veronica (Angel Lodge, martial arts expert), Jughead (Squint Jones, daredevil and escape artist), and Reggie (Nitro Mantle, explosives and demolition).

The full title of the series is Archie's Explorers of the Unknown!
