Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2006. Stopped in 2009 after 10 issues.

The stories are held in a romantic and historical manga-style setting in the 1890s Victorian London. The title character is Emma, a maid to the Stowner family, who falls in love with a member of the gentry, which is causing social problems with his upper class family.
