Personal dates: Founded in Germany in 1988 by Jürgen Janetzki (1943-2009). Stopped in 2000 but continued from 2006 as Splitter GmbH & Co. by Horst Gotta, Delia Wüllner-Schulz, and Dirk Schulz. Ongoing.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2012. Stopped in 2014 after 14 issues.

The fantasy story takes place in a hidden valley around the year 1000. Here lives the young knight El Mercenario in a scenary that includes ferocious monsters, giant reptiles, and flying dragons. He constantly tries to help the people of the valley - with a distinct flair for rescuing beautiful damsels in distress.
