: The corporation never used a logo on their comic book front covers. The only identification (if any!) was the rather inconspicuous line A Fawcett Publication.

MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1943*. Stopped in 1951 after 69 issues.

The series was created as a propaganda tool to recruit young men to join the US Navy. Therefore the stories had a tinge of authenticity, and they were indeed approved by the navy. Winslow acts as a Lieutenant in naval intelligence, and he is sent out on numerous spychasing missions.

* Initially, the series started in 1934, and it really took off after the Japanese attack on Hawaii's naval port Pearl Harbor in 1941.
