Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1988*. Stopped in 1990 after 24 issues.

The starring character is a physician, inventor, and adventurer with skills that almost makes him a superhero; he has great strength, is a master of martial arts and disguise, and he is dedicated to fight the villains of this world.

* Originally, the series is a spinoff from a pulp magazine series that began in 1933. The first comic book appearance came in 1940, and several series have been published since then. The series on this page is just one of the newer ones.
