MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1976. Stopped in 1988 after 12 issues.

The series features humorous stories of a megalomaniac general. He is obsessed with trying to seize power, but he lacks skills, equipment, and backing. The general's so-called headquarters is at a simple tree, and he normally uses a wobbly tank as his means of transportation.
He has a varied number of followers, but they are not much of a help; examples are a confused professor who delivers masterplans and disguises, a voluptuous niece who causes lots of distractions, and his own grandfather who is a veteran of the French-German war.
Most of the many characters are anonymous and without given names, but we do know that the general's first names are Jozef Maria Ignatius.
