The title Danmark Besat (Denmark Occupied in
English) refers to Denmark's position and resistance against the
German occupants during World War 2. We follow a string of
ordinary people with different backgrounds, and their increasing
will to resist the oppressors.
The series is historically correct in all the main aspects and
it gives a daunting and realistic glimpse of life in those
troubled days. The creators continued the overall political
theme by publishing new series on the post war years.
