The series premiered in
1946.
The two chipmunks Chip and Dale (a
pun on the world-famous furniture designer Thomas
Chippendale) live in both of Disney's main worlds,
the duck and the mouse universe, but they also
live in a world of their own, where the woods are
their normal habitat. Their appearance is
slightly different; Chip has a black nose, while
Dale has a pink one.
The stories were/are written by an
overwhelming number of artists. Examples: Carl
Robert Fallberg (1915-1996), Donald 'Don'
Ragnvald Christensen (1916-2006), Del G. Connell
(1918-2011), Victor 'Vic' Lockman (1927-), Carlo
Chendi (1933-), Joel Katz (1945-).
