MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1991. Stopped in 1992 after 15 issues.

The starring characters were initially meant to satirize the American superheroes and to add some social critique to Latin America. Thus Chapolim is dressed in a superheroish costume, while Chaves is portrayed as a poor boy. The name Chapolim is also known being spelled Chapolin and Chapulín.

The series as such is loosely built on a Mexican TV show that aired from 1970 to 1979 (411 episodes).
