Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1958. Stopped in 1971 after 77 issues, but has been revived several times since then.

The main characters are a group of 4 adventurers, who throw themselves into hazardous situations including missions for the Pentagon, dealing with paranormal challenges, battling time-travelling villains, and fighting fantastic menaces.
