Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1993*. Stopped in 2001 after 96 issues.

Selina Kyle has a secret identity of Catwoman and is mainly portrayed as an athletic cat burglar carrying a whip and bolas. She also has a split personality insofar she has a love-hate relationship with the starring character in Batman, and they often meet in complicated situations.

* The character was first published in 1940 as The Cat, and she has been revived in a number of publications since then under the name Catwoman.
