MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1998. Stopped in 2003 after 63 issues, but has been continued in several shortlived, new series.

The starring character is a teenager, Buffy Anne Summers, who has been chosen to be a Slayer, which basically means that she has to fight vampires and other types of dark forces.
It is not an easy task for Buffy as she also has her schoolwork to attend to, but, luckily, she has the occasional help from some of her friends such as Angel, Cordelia Chase, Daniel Ozbourne, Rupert Giles, Willow Rosenberg, and Xander Harris.

The series is based on a television show by the same title, that ran from 1997 to 2003 (144 episodes).
