Name: DC (American comics corporation).
Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2005*. Stopped in 2006 after 17 issues.

The starring character Etrigan is a demon from Hell, but despite his highly dubious 'address' he has allied himself with the forces of good on Earth such as several superheroes. Etrigan is bound to another hand-to-hand battling human named Jason Blood, with whom he has some sort of symbiotic relationship.
Etrigan's scary appearance is enhanced by the mask he is wearing. It was modelled after the mask the title character in Prince Valiant wore for a short period of time in order to scare a villainous character.

* The first series simply titled The Demon was published from 1972 to 1974 (16 issues), and there has been several follow ups since then.
