MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2004. Ongoing.

The starring character is the teenage boy Ichigo Kurosaki, who was born with the ability to see ghosts. One night he is visited by a soul reaper, who persuades him to join his ranks by defending humans from evil spirits, freeing tortured souls from their fates, and annihilating malevolent lost souls called Hollows that prey on humans.

The series started in Japan in 2001 titled Burīchi, which is a special term for some sort of Guardian.
