: Charlton published stories from all genres of the comic book universe. The company was known for its low-budget activities that included the publishing of previously unpublished material from bygone companies.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1955. Stopped in 1966 after 57 issues, but a second run emerged from 1959 to 1962 (12 issues).

The starring character is a black stallion roaming the Wild West doing good deeds.

The Charlton series is in fact the 5th on the market to hold the title Black Fury! The first was about a lady fighting crime (from 1941 on), the second was about a journalist also fighting crime (from 1941 on), the third was about an adventurer in Africa (from 1941 on), and the fourth was about a female criminal (from 1947 on).
The present series was partly adapted from a TV series titled Fury that ran from 1955 to 1960 (116 episodes).
