Name: Semic Press (subsidiary of the worldwide Egmont Group).
Personal dates: Founded in Sweden in 1950 as a comic book subdivision of the publishing company Bonnier AB and has since then changed name several times (the most well known older name is probably Serieförlaget). Sold to Egmont in 1997.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1971*. Stopped in 1978 after 86 issues (from 1976 retitled Bessie Spårhunden).

This Swedish series features an efficient and heroic collie named Bessie, that helps people and solves mysteries.

* The series ran under another publisher from 1969 (12 issues). During its entire run it has been titled Bessie, Bessie den kloka Hunden, Bessie Spårhunden, and Bessie den kloka Spårhunden.
