The series premiered in 1981. Stopped in 1985 after 50 issues.

The title character Arak (supposedly meaning Bright-Sky-After-Storm in his native language) is a strong, young North American Indian who travels in myths, legends, and time, where he encounters gods, heroes, and monsters.

The full title of the series is Arak Son of Thunder.
