The series premiered in
1972. Stopped in 1974.
Anna is a Danish girl living about
the year 1900. She comes from a poor peasant
family but ventures to the big city in order to
acquire a better life. Here she becomes a maid in
a wealthy household, but soon the naive girl is
pregnant with the son in the house. From then on
she travels out in Europe to seek happiness.
The series is a collage of graphic
depictions alternating between sketchy drawings
and cutouts from old magazines that are used to
emphasize the events and add to the oldfashioned
athmosphere.
