Personal dates: Founded in 1855 by Francis Scott Street (1831-1883) and Francis Shubael Smith (1819-1887). Stopped in 1959.

Comments:  The corporation chiefly published pulp fiction magazines and novels, but from 1940 to 1949 it took up publishing comic books as well. It never used a logo on these front covers.

The series primarily features independent action stories with diverse pilots flying in different time ages.
