Comments: * The corporation was bought by Acclaim Entertainment in 1994 that stopped in 2004. Valiant then continued the corporation from 2008. Different logos were used during the periods; the one shown to the left derives from the initial run.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1991*. Stopped the same year after 9 issues.

The series basically features stories with diverse characters living in the Mushroom Kingdom, which is infested with obstacles that have to be overcome. The most often recurring characters are the plumber Mario, his younger brother Luigi, Toad, Bowser, and Princess Toadstool AKA Peach.

The series as such is based on a series of highly popular Japanese Nintendo platform video games starting in 1985.

* Initially, the series started in 1990 (6 issues) featuring different stories, although the front covers are partly the same.
