Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

The series premiered in 1938*. Stopped in 1983 after 503 issues.

The series contains a cavalcade of stories featuring heroic feats mostly performed by different comic book superheroes with Superboy as the leading character.

* Initially, the series started in 1937 and ran for 20 issues under the title New Adventure Comics.
