The series premiered in
1920. Stopped in 1965.
This humorous newspaper
strip was the forerunner of multiple other
pantomime strips. The cigar-smoking character of
Adamson is the everyday man, who tries to deal
with all sorts of problems in his own way. His
most striking feature is the three strands of
hair on top of his head.
Parallel versions of the strip were
made in the USA from 1935 to 1953, where the
series was also known as Silent Sam.
